The latest announcement from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) is that the Official Cash Rate (OCR) was cut by 50 basis points to 2.5% on October 8, 2025. This aggressive cut was in response to weak economic activity, but the RBNZ expects inflation to return to the 2% mid-point in the first half of 2026.
